Like I wrote in the previous post, we spend a third of our lives sleeping, so it’s of high important that we keep our bed sheets clean and soft in order to help us get the best sleep.
Cotton is an excellent choice of fabric for bed linen. Why? because it wicks away moisture helping to regulate your body temperature as you sleep.
Cotton bed sheets should be washed at least once a week to prevent bacteria.
GENERAL TIPS ON HOW TO CARE FOR A BED LINEN:
Rotate your sheets weekly to maintain that clean and fresh feeling in your beds.
NOTE: It is recommended you have at least 3 sets of bedsheets.

- Look out for all labels to be sure you don't have any specific cleaning requirements that you need to follow. Bed sheets can be washed in the washing machine. You can wash together similar colors. Special fabrics may require careful consideration so always check the label for requirements.
- Remember that Polyester blends are best washed using warm water, while cotton can tolerate hot water. Hot water kills most germs.
- Wash at least once every week. Some people spend more time in bed than they do in their clothing. We wash clothes regularly, so bed sheets should also be washed regularly.
- Direct sunshine is a natural disinfectant and helps brighten whites. Hang the sheets outside if possible. You can tumble dry if weather or time doesn't permit.
- Lastly, Iron and store each set inside one of the pillowcases to help keep matching sets together.
